Frequently asked questions

What is Whisser Paste?

Whisser Paste is a free online pastebin for sharing text, notes and code snippets. Paste your content, create the paste and share the link that Whisser gives you.

How long does a paste stay available?

If you leave Expiration blank, a paste expires 7 days after it is created. You can also choose your own expiration date and time. After a paste expires, its link no longer opens the content.

Can I password-protect a paste?

Yes. Enter an optional password before you create the paste. Visitors must enter it to view the content, and Whisser stores only a one-way hash of the password.

What does the view limit do?

The optional view limit sets how many times the paste can be opened successfully. Once the limit is reached, the paste can no longer be viewed. Link previews in chat apps do not use up views.

Who can see my paste?

Anyone who has the link can open a paste that has no password. Paste content is stored on Whisser servers and shared paste pages ask search engines not to index them, so add a password for anything sensitive and never share secrets such as passwords or API keys.

Do I need an account to use Whisser Paste?

No. Creating and viewing pastes is free and does not require a Whisser account.
