About the Reaction Time & CPS Test

Whisser Reaction Time Test measures how quickly you respond to a visual signal, in milliseconds, and the Click Speed Test counts how many clicks per second (CPS) you can make. They are fun ways to warm up before gaming, compare scores with friends or track your reflexes over time. Both tests run entirely in your browser.

How to use

  1. Pick Reaction time or Click speed (CPS) at the top.
  2. For reaction time, click the blue box, wait while it is red, then click the instant it turns green. Repeat five times to get your average.
  3. For CPS, choose a test length, then click the area as fast as you can until the ring runs out.
  4. Check your rating and rank, and try again to beat your personal best.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good reaction time?

The average visual reaction time for a click is roughly 250 to 280 milliseconds. Under 220 ms is excellent, and under 200 ms is very fast. Results also depend on your device, screen and mouse, which add some delay.

How does the reaction time test work?

Click to start, wait while the box is red, then click the moment it turns green. The delay before green is random, between 1.5 and 5 seconds, so you cannot predict it. Each round has five attempts and shows your average.

What happens if I click too early?

Clicking before the box turns green shows Too soon! and that attempt is not counted. Click again to retry.

What is a CPS test?

A CPS test measures how many times you can click per second. Choose a duration, click the area as fast as you can, and your total clicks are divided by the time. Most people reach 5 to 8 CPS; over 10 CPS is very fast.

Can I use a keyboard or a phone?

Yes. Both tests work with a mouse, a touch screen, or the Space and Enter keys. Holding a key down only counts once.

Are my scores saved?

Your best reaction time, best average and best CPS for each duration are saved in this browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to a server, and the tests are free with no account.
